A health crisis. Every day, ~2,000 children lose their lives due to hunger & malnutrition related causes.
Insufficient nutrition
90%

Severe Acute Malnutrition 7.7%

Underweight children

Maternal malnutrition 52%
Almost half of pregnant women are anemic which can lead to maternal and/or child mortality during childbirth.
The long-term effects of early childhood malnutrition are exponential.
Psychological trauma
Early childhood malnutrition can lead to emotional distress, increased vulnerability to mental health disorders, poor self-esteem, social challenges, with long-term effects on adult life.
Gender disparity
The role of women in decision making is minimal, further amplifying the gender-divide.
Under-education
Undernourished children are unlikely to attain necessary education levels & realize their potential.
Poverty

Crime

Human capital loss
